1937

The average size of the tank at the water line was 188' x 179' the measurement being the average of the water line before and after pumping. [...] The water of the supply tank was chlorinated by the Health Officer of the district board almost every day so occasional test of the tap water was taken and the quantity of chlorine was adjusted accordingly. [...] The site should not be parallel to any of the existing tanks as the erosion of one of the banks would bring the sea nearer to the next one. [...] General arrangement in the mela ground.—Owing to the elusion ()I the mela site by the sea the ground needed extension and the previous location of quarters of the staff the telegraph office the thana etc-.; had to be changed. [...] The people enjoyed their bath at the place set apart for the purpose but it is regrettable that this portion was polluted on the night of the 13th and 14th much to the inconvenience of the bathers.
