The mela broke up on the morning of the 15th January and by the noon of the same day the majority of the pilgrims left the island. [...] I left the island with the Mechanical Overseer and some of the members of the temporary subordinate staff on the afternoon of the 16th January and arrived Calcutta on the afternoon of the 17th January by the Government steam launch Winifred. [...] The Sanitary Inspector and the gang of sweepers left the ground in the afternoon of the 16th January. [...] The Chairman of the District Board reached the island in the morning of the 14th January. [...] The District Board Chairman accopanied by the members the Secretary and the medical staff of the board left the mela in the evening of the 15th January.
