It was accordingly held in the Town Hall under the Chairmanship of His Excellency the Governor of Bengal on the 30th July 1928 and certain resolutions regarding the perpetuation of the memorary of the late Hon'ble Maharaja Bahadur were adopted. [...] R. dated Calcutta the 10th September 1928 "13 invited an opinion of your Association in the proposed amenment of Sections 34 and 50 of the said Act 1890 (VIII of 1890) to make it permissible for the appointment of an Auditor on suitable remuneration to be paid out of the estates of minors to check the accounts of the managment of those estates whenever a Court thinks it necessary to do s [...] Raja Provat Chandra Barua of Gouripore the President of the Goalpara Zamindars' Association and one of the members of your Association addressed a letter to the Secretary of your Association seeking to enlist your support in the matter of the re-transfer of Goalpara District to Bengal. [...] The letter of the President and the Memorandum of your Association on the subject are annexed in the Appendix. [...] C. the following resolution was passed :— "The British Indian Association have learned with genuine gratification of the news of the election of Kumar Maninatha Nath Mitter Rai Bahadur to the Bengal Legislative Council from the Landholders' Constituency of the Presidency Division and desire to place on record the warm interest which the illustrous grand-father of the Kumar the late Raja Diga
