The Band of the Battalion maintained its high tradition and played music on various occasions including the State reception held in honour of the President of India on the lawn of the Assembly House Calcutta on 24th December 1952. [...] Several radio receiving sets have been provided for the (dub recreation room and the hospital of the Botto!ion for recreation of the force and the patients. [...] They were also called upon for the usual guarding of the railway lines in connetion with the tour of the Governor and also the strenuous duties in connection with the last General Election. [...] During the year the total number of calls on account of communal and other disturbances and industrial strikes that the force had to attend was less than that in the previous year as will appear from the comparative chart below :— The discipline and efficiency of the force were well-maintained during the year. [...] I also inspected the District Armed Police teams (4 the districts of Burdwan 24-Parganas and Darjeeling and the 2nd Armed Police Battalion team and declared the winners among them in the different events of the Drill Competition.
