The object of this report is to fix that datum line subject of course to the proviso that it will require modification in the light of the conditions obtaining in India in the years to come. [...] In connection with the provision of equipment special emphasis may be laid on the importance of adequate libraries and of making the fullest possible use of what are commonly described as mechanical aids tR learning e g. the cinema the radio the gramophone the epidiascope the magic lantern etc. [...] The main reason for this division is that at about the age of eleven or twelve with the onset of adolescence certain mental and physical changes occur in boys and girls which necessitate a corresponding adjustment both in the content of the curriculum and in the methods of instruction. [...] 8 their decsion was : While the majority of the members of the Board accepted the view of the Committee the official members representing the Government of India expressed their inability to commit themselves in any way. [...] The standards in regard to the training recruitment and conditions of 'service of teachers prescribed in the report of the Committee approved by the Central Advisory Board in 1943 represent the minimum compatible with the success of a national system : these should be adopted and enforced everywhere.
