3. Donors' of Rs.100 to the funds of the Association and donors of prizes of the value of not less than Rs.200 to be competed for at the Annual Prize Meeting shall be entitled to be enrolled as LifMembers of the Association. [...] The question of a handicap for the Martini-Henry Rifle was discussed in the Report of last year and it was stated that any handicap based on the shooting of the two classes of rifle at the 1895 Meerut Meeting was not possible as the shooting had been very even at all ranges. [...] The shooting at the 1896 Meeting still further confirms this view and shows that the addition of 1 point at 600 1 at 800 and 2 at 900 would at once give all the advatages to the Martini-Henry arm."s By adding this handicap to the scores made with the Martini-Henry during the last two Meetings the results would be as follows :— Position in the Prize-list of the Martini-Henry if handicap point [...] The Council quite admit that the Lee-Metford shoots closer than the Martini-Henry but the size of the bull's-eyes is so large that it is well within the power of the Martini-Henry to keep inside it.
