With regard to the correspondence with the Vice Chairman of the Road Coss Committee of Dacca in the matter of the excavation of the Taltolah and Srnagar Khals _ repairs of the road from Manikganje to Sealah and bridging over of the Khals in the aforesaid road a reply has been received to the effect that on account of want of funds and other reasons the matter must stand over. [...] The result of the correspondence with the Faripure Road Cess Committee regarding (1) the road from Faridpure tt! Madaripure (2) the completion of the Rajbari road for a Tramway (3) the extension of the Bliojeshwar road from Thanah Palong to the Swamp' Moonsiffee (1) and the communication between Golundo and Sealah by means of a Steam Ferry Launch has been so far satisfactory that of the [...] 2. On the 20th January 1884 the first annual meeting was held in which the office bearers and the Executive Committee were appointed for the transation of business during the year as detailed in appendix A. A special auditor for the purpose of auditing the receipts and disbursements of the Association was also appointed. [...] In reply the Association pointed out the great necessity for the excavation of a khal conneting the river Dhaleswari with the Pudma via Srinagur there being great scarcity of good drinking water and want of proper drainage in that quarter of Vikrampur"( 5 ) and asked the Chairman to undertake the work either by the extension of the Canal Act to it or by periodical grants from the Road Coss fund [...] The following is a list of the subjects which engaged the Association's attention and formed the subject of correspondence with the Local Authorities eittritig the establishment of the Association in 1883.
