In view of the various schemes introduced or in contemplation for the renovation of the movement and development of its actvities in different directions it is time to consider the expediency of further delegation of the statutory duties of the Registrar to the Assistant Registrars' leaving with him only the responsibility of higher control. [...] A proposal for the entertainment of additional auditors to meet the requirement of the audit sub-circles and to improve the standard and efficiency of audit was under the consideration of Government. [...] There was however no demand for agrcultural credit societies owing to the rigidity of the provisions of the by-laws which scared away the individual promters and also to the reluctance on the part of Central Banks to finance new societies in view of the low repaying capacity of the agriculturists and somtimes owing to paucity of capital. [...] A scheme for the establishment with the aid of a grant from the Goverment of India of a co-operative training institute with a whole-time staff of instructors for the training of the new recruits to the department the secrtaries and managers and the outdoor staff of co-operative societies as also for refresher courses for the inspectors and auditors throughout the year in batches was under [...] The criminal case against the directors '0 the Ghatal People's Bank resulted in conviction of the late Chairman and one of the clerks of the bank The future of the bank is still uncertain and if measures for reconstitution fail to be effective the bank will have to be wound up.
