I. Mranaging Committee.-In the course of the year under report the following changes took place in the Managing Committee of the Patna M useu(a) The terms of membership of Dr. [...] Adviser to His Excellency the Governor of Bihar agreed to serve as a member of the Committee and Government were pleased to appoint him as a member of the Committee with effect from the 7th April 1940 in the place of Mr. [...] P. C. Manuk.—Under the auspices of the Managing Committee of the Patna Museum and under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Stewart its President Mr. [...] Working of the Museum —The report for the year under review will *show substantial improvements and additions made. in the different sections of the Museum."3 It may be interesting to note that the Curator and the staff of the Museum had to handle the numbering and display of 2 259 antiquities including acquisitions during the year under The Terra-cotta and Cast Hall has been 'completely re-ar [...] The characters of the inscriptions on the plaque belong to the Nagri script of the 11th Century A. D."6 (f) On loan from the DirectoGeneral of Archaeology in India painted potsherds which were unearthed at Harappa in the district of Montgomery.
