(Amendment) Act of 1926 by the Councillors appointed under clause (b) of Section (5) of the Calcutta Municipal Act 1923 and the Councillors by the special constituencies. [...] 5. At the moment when the check to progress developed the Trust were in sight of completion of the new residential area to the North of the Lakes in South Calcutta; and were just about to take up the remaining half of the new Avenue from Dalhousie Square to Howrah Bridge; while the outer circle of communications in the East of the city from the Gariahat Road via Park Circus to Dharamtala was stea [...] A. whose term of office expired on the 9th August 1941 was re-elected under section 7(3) of the Calcutta Improvement Act by the Bengal National Chamebr of Commerce as their representative of the Board of Trustees for the Improvement of Calcutta with effect from the 10th August 1941. [...] A statement of the Loans raised is included in the Balance Sheet appearing on page 59 and a statement of the position of the Sinking Funds for the repayment of the Loans on the closing date of the year under review is given on page 91.
