Department of Agriculture Central Provinces and Berar. Report on Doistrict Demonstration Work carried in the Western Circle during the year ending the 31st March 1931

The staff was mainly concerned with the rogueing and general care of the crop as well as with the collection and marketing of the produce. [...] A few of the many activities of these societies are the introduction of the seed of the improved varieties of crops use of improved implements and adoption of improved methods of cultivation. [...] 3 300 11 69 The breeding of poultry with a view of encouraging the keeping of fowls as a subsidiary occupation by the cultivators of this tract was started towards the close of the year. [...] The activities of the departmental staff were mostly centred round the work in connection with this cotton and consisted of proper supervision and control so far as rogueing and general care of the crop was concerned and of organizing collection and marketing of the produce. [...] This was due to the fact that the interes`s of the mill-owners and purchasers on their behalf were clashing with the objects of the pool which was mainly intended to benefit the grow ers.
