Luary 1555 to consider any communication from the Superintendent to afford him full iuformatiou -as to the conduct of the Medical Officer in charge and all other matters affecting the welfare of the sick and the management of the institution. [...] The Medical Officer in charge shall write up daily— (a) a record of the work done showing day by day the number of patients treated the affections for which they were treated and in important cases some account of the systems the treatment progress and the result ; (b) a record of the accounts of the institution. [...] The Medical Officer in charge of a hospital or dispensary is reponsible for the treatment of the sick and this duty shall on no account be delegated to a subordinate ; he is also responsible fel all matters conected with the comfort and well-being of the patients and for the proper working of the dispensary establishment. [...] To test the professional and English qualifications of candidates for promotion to the next higher grade examinations should be held quarterly on the 15th January April July and October under the Civil Surgeon's supervision and the result of the examination should be sumitted to the Chairman District Board in the attached form. [...] The proper place for a dead-house is in the vicinity of the police lines but it should be located at a sufficient distance from the lines and the police hospital so as not to be offensive or injurious to the health of the occupants.
