T. Shaw Superintendent of Provincial Surveys spent 253 days on tour Tours of the Superintendent of and tested in the field the maps and records of 54 mandals Provincial Surveys and the Suin 202 villages in the districts of Goalpara Nowgong and Assistant Superintendent of SuLakhimpur. [...] The alteration in number was due to (1) replacement under the orders of the Hon'ble the Chief Commissioner of the patwaris' staff (34) sanctioned for the ilam etc. [...] Lakhimpur) and the abolition of one post in consequence of the revision of the kanungo establishment for the Rant estates in Sylhet. [...] Leaving out of consideration the two districts under resettlement the papers of all the mandals were checked except in the Dibrugarh subdivision where out of 76 mandals work of 57 was examined Srijut Bharat Chandra Das toured for the largest number of days and Babu Puma Chandra Mitra visited the largest number of villages. [...] All the mauzadars of Nowgong 4 out of the 7 mauzadars of Goalpasa 7 out of the 14 mauzadars of Kamrup and ' 2 out of the 17 mauzadars of Darrang examined mandals' papers and tested their field work.
