He also did the work of collecting the cane varieties of the Bombay Presidency through the Miimlatdars. [...] 1 214 0 0 It will be seen that cane after Nilwa jowtir has given the lowest outturn throughout the period of the series except the first two years where it is slightly over the other two plots probably due to the good effects of the treatment previous to the experiment. [...] Thirdly :—it improves considerably the physical codition of the soil which is essential to the growth of the cane crop. [...] The statement below gives the net profit by growing jowax fodder cost of growing and green manuring of Sann and cost for keeping the land fallow for the G years of the experiment. [...] A new plot of Burhal ashes is also added to the above series to see whether the K 0 and P 0 of the ashes are sufficient to the cane crop.12 The results of the experiments carried out this year are given below.
