A Descriptive Catalogue of the Sanskrit Manuscripts in the Tanjore Maharaja Serfoji’s Sarasvati Mahal Library Tanjore. Volume I - Vedas

The attention of the Government of India and through it of the Government of Madras was directed in 1868 to the importance of the examination purchase or transcription of Sanskrit Manucripts in Indian Libraries and the framing of printed lists or catalogues of the same. [...] 2fi of 1912 on the file of the Subordinate Judge of Tanjore agreed that it was eminently fit that the Library should be preserved and maintained as a public Library in trust for the public and removed the Library and one lakh of rupees to provide for its upkeep from the subject-matter of the suit. [...] The dream by a Vai ;ya named Dhanaaljaya of the worship of Lord KadainbavaneAvara by the Gods his report of the dream to his King Kula;;ekhara Fiylya the expedition to the place of worship by the king accompanied by his ministers their meeting a Siddita on the way who advises them to build a temple dedicated to the Lord and details regarding the building of the temple and a city evidently INIa
