Report on the Maritime Trade of the Province of Sind For 1923-24

The monsoon was again favourable and resulted in plentiful harvests and the satisfactory nature of the crops is clearly reflected in the recovery of the balance of trade which was in favour of the port to the extent of Rs. [...] As a result of the properous condition of the agricultural classes;_a good busines was done in cotton piece-goods the principal article in the import trade in the latter part of the year. [...] Other factors which assisted the revival of the import trade were the rductions in prices both in the United Kingdom and the continent and the steadiness of exchange rates during the course of the year.
