Of the 44 Kumars on the Roll at the end of last year no less than 10 left some on account of age and some to be educated in their own States : there have been five new entries and the number on the Roll to-day is 39. [...] The portrait of the Chief is by a local artist while the Principal's portrait is the work of Captain W. E. Gladstone Solomon the Principal of the School of Art Bombay. [...] The function went off very well ; instead of the usual recitations a performance of the Trial Scene out of the Merchant of Venice was given and very creditably ; Kumar Shri Chandrasinhji of Dhrol as Portia bore off the honours with Kumar Shri Natwarsinhji of Rajpipla Shylock a close second.
