[...] 7489'1; dated the 21st December 1887 for the consideration of the Government of Bengal it was stated that the Government of India found it impossible under the present system to meet the wishes of the Secretary of State to publish an Imperial return and a review thereon owing to great discrepancies in weights between the several provinces and to incompleteness of figures in certain cases [...] With the view however of securing greater unformity in the system of valuing the articles of raiborne trade entered in the provincial annual rturns and of preventing the discrepancies which have hitherto arisen from the importing and exporing provinces adopting different value rates in respect to the same articles the Government of India in the Revenue and Agricultural Department h [...] was better than the crop of 1887 but inferior to that of 1886 The Officiating Director Department of Land Records and Agriculture North-West Provinces and Oudh makes the following remarks as regards the prospects of trade :— "` Though the quality of the wheat crop has been generally reported as very fine and the gross outturn exceeds the produce of the previous year by over 10 per cent. [...] 13 In the export trade the following are the staples of which the varitions during the quarter ending the 30th June 1888 call for remark :— Staples showing an increase on the returns of the quarter ending the 30th June 1887 COKE.
