The result of this examination confirmed the reputtion of Peary Churn as the best scholar of the Hindu College ; and the Reports of the Council of Education for the 3 successive years containing his answers to queries or Essays contributed to bring him into more prominence and respect. [...] In 1840 the year in which the Senior Scholaship examination was created the Educational authorities with a view to advance the cause of Higher education still further founded the Library Medal Examination as will appear from the following extract from the letter of the General Committee of Public Instruction Bengal No. [...] I must however bring to the particular notice of the Council the unremitted exertion of the Head Master Babu Peary Churn Sircar to promote the welfare of the school. [...] Here the flowers were blooming in all their fragrance there the students and the teachers going into ecstasies over the multcoloured vegetation ; here the lotus blooming by day and there the liumzed by night enhancing the beauty of the tank. [...] In his Annual Report of the school to the Secretary to the Council of Education he wrote—The plans and preparation for the working of the Agricutural School to be attached to the Institution having been completed and approved by the Council operations will be commenced on the reassembling of the school.
