Secrets of Antiquity (World-antiquity finds Key in Indian antiquity)

1929

(Commentary on the first hymn of 33rd Chap of Shukla Yujurveda.) It appears from the above comments that the whole ceremony was emblematical of the first creation of the Universe and the different gods symbolised the different creative principles at work at the different phases of evolution. [...] Genesis the first and the oldest book of the Bible in treating of the genealogy of the races then existing in the holy land refers amongst others to Cush and Raamah as the ancestors. [...] The 'Tyrians established depots on the shores of the Persian"Indian Colony in the Bible 17 Gulf and the course of trade being through the land of Cushdi the races in India came to be included under the -ethnological title of Cush ( Genesis X. 6 ) and hence the Persian Chaldaean and Arabic versions of the Bible frequently render that term by 'India. [...] The following historical account of the early life of the Shakas we believe would sufficiently support the view put forth by us :- The "agricultural" Scythians in the districts watered by the Dniester Bug and Dnieper were indeed from their occupation contrasted with the nomad stock the "royal"' Scythians in the wide plain between the Dnieper and the Don but in other respects were not different [...] As the wealth-qualification determines the rank of thmercantile class so the Irish distinction about the ranks of the Aires would quite agree in principle to the Indian distinction of the Vaisya-Caste.
