Section I. The findings of the Students' Welfare Committee have drawn the attention of the public to the physical impairment of the adolescent. [...] After the completion of the health examination in the College the Secretary will as soon as possible prepare a report on the state of health of the students of the College and will forward it together with his recommendations and suggestions to the Principal the Medical Officer and the Physical Instructor of the College concerned as also to the Director of Physical Instruction Calcutta Un [...] Along with the °ther 'activties of the University the work of the Committee suffered con siderably owing to the unrest prevailing among the. student population and the health examination of the siMdepts-had td be 'suspended during the months of July and part pE Atikust. [...] Of the different tests advocated for testing the functional capacity of the heart the stair-case test seemed to be the one likely to give the best results and the easiest to be adopted. [...] Most of the students therefore failed to satisfy the 2nd condition formulated for judging the effect of the test and the standard will have to be modified in the light of the above findings.
