A Collection of the Acts Passed by the Governor-General in Council in the Year 1917

[Air of the steam-vessel ale sufficient for the voyage or service intended and in good codition and (b) the equipments of the steam-vessel and the certificates of the mater and engineer are such and in such condition as are required by any law for the time being in force and applicable to the steam vessel the surveyor shall forthwrth give to the owner or master a declaration in the prescribed [...] A certificate of survey shall not be in force — certificates of survey (a) after the expiration of one year from the date thereof ; or (b) after the expiration of the period (if less than one year) for which the hull boilers engines or other machinery or any of the equipments of the steam-vessel to which the certificate relates have been stated in the certificate to be sufficient; or (c) after [...] (a) the times and places of holding and the mode of conducting examination of persons desious of obtaining certificates of competency ; (b) the qualifications to be required of persons desirous of obtaining such certificates ; - o) the examination fees to be paid by such persons ; and :d) the forms in which such certificates are to be framed and the authority by whom and the manner in which c [...] (2) In every case in which any such charge arises against any master engineer or engine-driver or any person holding a certificate granted unirer Chapter III in the course of an investigation the Court shall before the commencement of the inquiry into the charge cause to be furnished to him a copy of the report or of any statement of the case upon which the investigation has been directed. [...] the following cases namely :-- (a) if on any investigation made under this Act the Court reports that the wreck or abandonment of or loss or damage to any vessel or loss of life has been caused by the wrongful act or default of the holder of such certificate or that the holder of such certificate is incompetent or has been guilty of any gross act of drunkenness tyranny or other misconduc
