Department of Agriculture Bombay. Annual Report on the Experimental Work of the Alibag Agricultural Station (Including Bandhan Sub-Station) (Kolaba District) For the Year 1913-14

1915

The rice seedlings was begin on the 27th of June and ended is the 3rd week of July. [...] In the fifth series the seeds of green manuring crops were sown and irrigated in order to start them on their growth before the commencement of the monsoon and the plants were uprooted and transferred early in July to plots which were afterwards transplanted with rice. [...] Except in the case of Luo1_lra refuse there has been no increase in the outturn of paddy as a result of the application of manure. [...]. The above results show that the bone meal increased the outturn of the crop but that its application reduced the net profits per acre.
