I continued in charge of the administration of the Act during the year in addition to my other duties as Commissioner of Labour and Director of Information except for the period from the 16th March to 12th October when I was on leave. [...] 5. As the statistics relating to the administration of the Act in Sind have not been included in this report the closing balances sfiown in the last report do not agree with the opening balances 'shown in the report. [...] At the commencement of the year there were 25 cases pending and 411 fresh applications were received during the year making 436 cases of which 419 were disposed of and the remaining 17 were pending at the end of the year. [...] The total number of accidents reported was 4 071 of which 43 resulted in death 327 in permanent disablement and 3 701 in temporary disablement in two of which the injured workmen were minors The total payment of compensation reported in respect of these accidents was Rs. [...] The case referred to in paragraph 32 of the last report which was under correspondence with the Collector of Karachi was trans= ferred for disposal to the Commissioner Karachi in consequence of the separation of Sind.
