1938

The following table shows the number of industries the nutnber of persons employed the number of accidents the total amount of compensation paid and percentage of accidents to persons employed it each of the eight groups of industries subject to the Notification referred to above :— Groups of Industries. [...] From the above &ores it will be seen that the bulk of the administration of the Act falls on the Commissioner Bombay and as the latter has now taken over Ahmedabad the percentage of cases dealt with by him is likely to be in the neighbourhood of 95. [...] As in previous years the co-operation of the Insurance Companies representing the employers and Claims Agencies representing the workers contributed materially to the smooth working of the Act in Bombay. [...] I again take this opportunity of recording my appreciation of the valuable assistance received from the Factpry and Police Departments and the Coroner of Bombay in tracing small employers and the relatives of the deceased workmen. [...] During the nine months in which the Act has been in force the total number of applications received and decided was eighteen 12 of which were individual applications and the remainder group applications in three of which the applications were presented by Inspectors of Factories.
