Annual Administration Report of the Madras Civil Veterinary Department For the Year 1937-38

in the course of my tours during the year I iasilected as 11:7111.1 all the t\Nelve District Veterinary offices the Madra.: Veterinary College the serum Institute and the VeterinarJnvestigution ohice. [...] I inspected both the units of the motor exhibition van of the department in the field and accompanied the van to two villages one in the Tamil and the other in the Telugu area. [...] Including the failed students (1 for Degree and 7 for Diploma) who joined the class in October the strength of the class at the end of the year was 55 (41 in the Degree and 14 in the Diploma classes). [...] Ten students of the college as mebers of the sports committee and the Physical Instructor of the college assisted the secretary in his work. [...] But during the year under report there 'happened a change in the personnel of the contract for the sale of buffaloes and calves and it is piratifying to learn that the contractor had been able to sell over 50 per cent of the buffaloes and almost all the calves to agriculturists for work and ploughing purposes.
