The Public Works Department in communication with that officer asked it will be noticed for four posts to register the trade of the roads from Delhi to Karnal and Hoshiapur to Jullundur but the funds at the.disposal of the Financial Commissioner are apparently inadequate to admit of the maintenance of that number. At present the following railway projects seem to be those most likely to be first taken in hand but.an accurate forecast of railway construction operation cannot be given pending the publication of the Report of the Select Committee of the House of Commons now sitting on the question of railway extension in India.
