The Co-operative Societies Act has been implemented by the publication of the Rules under the Act towards the fag end of the year. [...] 6. The total number of societies in the State at the end of the year was 1655. [...] The 1655 societies on the rolls at the end of the year have been classified thus :— Of the total number of 1655 societies on the rolls at the end of the year 19 had not started work. [...] In view of the very hard times for theagriculturists the Department favoured the grant of liberal concessions in the /miter of repayment of overdue& Hand in hand with the attempts at rsuscitation strenuous efforts were also put forth to develop the nocredit side of the movement. [...] The Centiral Bank the Central Institute the Central Weaving Socie4 and the Supervising Unions excluded there were 1 609 societies working at the end of the year.
