2. The Registrar of the University should be addressed with a view to giving effect to the wishes of the subscribers in regard to the Felloship which it is proposed to found and the Director of Public Instrution should be requested to take steps in communication with the Acountant General to invest the sum of Rs. [...] 3. The correspondence should be placed on the Editor's table ; and when the arrangements are completed the proceedings will be reported to Her Majesty's Secretary of State who will be requested to commnicate to His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh the means taken by the Chiefs and Sirdars of the Deccan and Southern Maratha Country to commemorate his visit to Bombay. [...] But why should the former be examined before the latter ? I rather think that the latter should receive the prfereoce because the latter will be the poorer of the two sections of canddates and the greater partof them will be from the Mofussil. [...] 2. The Educational Inspector of the Division to which the district belongs will superintend the examination and will appoint the Examiing Committee which will consist of a President and two members - to be selected from such officers of the Educational Department as are available ; e.g. [...] RESOLUTION.—No Officer in the service of Government can.be pemitted to undertake the duty of Examiner for the University without the sanction of the Head of his Department previously obtained or if the day necessitate his absence from the place where his ordinary official work is carried on without previous arrangement being made for the conduct of the business of his office during his absen
