The design of the Rural Health Centres of various categories the T. B. Sanatorium and works of such nature of the Health Department were also handled by the Board. [...] In spite of this due to still heavier influx of refugees on the one hand and the floods in Upper Bengal on the other there was a steady increase in the prevailing market price of rice and the food situation in West Bengal at the time of writing this resume threatened to be acute. [...] Faced with the situation the State Government had to approach the Centre for an allotment of 50 000 tons of rice for feeding the refugees and an additional 40 000 tons of rice as partial recompens.e for the divesion of two lakh acres of aux paddy lands to the cultivation of jute which had naturally meant a smaller output of rice. [...] To harmonise this relationship the Act provides for the equitable distribution of the 8"THE THIRD YEAR IN WEST BENGAL produce regulation of the Bargadar's right to cultivate the land and the establishment of Bhag Chas (Crop-share) Conciliation Boards for the settlement of disputes. [...] Facilities for the supply of raw materials transport release of essential and controlled materials securing of licenses for import of machinery and materials from abroad and export of commodities to foreign countries regulation of export and import of specified raw materials and supply of electricity by regulated control of power through the West Bengal Electricity Supply Board are some of the
