This is done by the prpaganda staff of the Department under the two Deputy Directors of Agriculture and one Divisional Superintendent of Agriculture under the general control of the Director of Agriculture. [...] Thus an effective check and control is tlaintained over the general policy of the Agricultural Department—the detailed objectives being left over to the Head of the Department to arrange for the guidance of the staff of the Department. [...] The increase in acreage is the result of the assured and perennial supply of irrigation whereas the introduction of American cotton in place of deshi cotton is the result of the efforts of the Agricultural Department in Sind. [...] During the year under report the Technological Assistant attached to the staff of the Botanical Section at Sakrand from the grant made available by the Indian Central Cotton Committee carried out fibre tests of families and sub-families of pure strains of improved cottons obtained by botanical research work and the valuable results thus obtained were utilised in the planning of future botanical [...] At the same time there has been rapid increase in the area under cotton resulting in the overlap of the agricultural operations both at the commencment and the end of the wheat growing season.
