[...] The yields of table grapes in some of the grape growing countries of the world are given in the following table :- Country. [...] The average quantity of annual imports of grapes into India during the same period was 8 300 tons of which 98 per cent was obtained from Afghanistan the other sources of imports being the United States of America Union of South Africa and Australia. [...] Some of the distinguishing characteristics of the grapes of the two groups are stated below :— Vinijed a geapts.--generally the bunches are large the berries are oblong.
