(6) Development of the organization of the Agricultural Department in Sind.--Immediately previous to the appoinment of the Chief Agricultural Officer in Sind the work of the xo Q 81—la4 Agricultural Department in Sind with the exception of the Agricultural Research Station Sakrand was in charge of a -Deputy Director of Agriculture Sind under the general supervision of the Director of Agri [...] In Sind as in other agricultural countries of the world the maintenance of an adequate standard of living among the rural community must largely depend in the immediate future upon effective organization of the cultivators with the object of reducing the costs of production and increasing the outturn and value of their produce. [...] (h) The approval of Government to the formation of a Provincial Board of Agriculture in Sind and to a Local Committee of that Board in lieu of the Divisional Board of Agriculture Sind to co-ordinate the work of the Agricultural and Co-operative Departments and the assocition of noofficials in agricultural development work (reference paragraph 50). [...] Of these the first should be for the area to be irrigated on the Right Bank of the Indus the second for the area under the Rohri and associated canal systems on the Left Bank and the third for the tract to be supplied by the various canals of the Eastern Nara system in East Sind. [...] Accoringly in view of the coincidence in home and foreign demand in respect of the quality of wheat it is.in every way desirable that the bulk of the wheat produced in the Barrage areas in the future should consist of " strong " wheats which can compete with the best wheats of other countries in the markets Of the world.
