A circular has been issued to all Officers of the Department inviting their attention to the remarks made by the Public Health Commissioner with the Government of India in an address delivered by him at Calcutta before the 7th congress of the Far Eastern Assciation of Tropical Medicine regarding the importance of re-vaccination and they have been directed to devote special attention to the subj [...] These people are deaf to all persuasion in spite of the recurrent epidemics of considerable severity which sweep the town constituting a menace to the rest of the District. [...] The appointment of a full time Director of the Vaccine Institute and increments to the pay of various Officers account for the remainder. [...] The following table shows the progress de in the protection of infants during the year under report and tIT6 number of deaths from small-pox during five years in those towns in which the Act has been in force together with date of extension of vaccination Act to the towName Population Number of births during tne year Children Births minus deaths of children under one year for vaccination availa [...] The Chief Engineer Lloyd Barrage and Canals Construction has arranged for vaccination in the townships and at the quarries to be performed by the Health Officer of the Barrage.
