The Prefect ( or the District Officer ) the Mayor of the town and the Judges are ex-Rilicio members of the committee of managment which also includes representatives of teachers and tutors and two representatives of the parents nominated by the Minister. [...] In view of the fact that most of the Secondary schools in this Presidency do not receive grant-in-aid even to the extent of one third of the admitted expenditure it Jaas become extremely difficult for them to maintain even the minimum efficiency and hence this Conference.urges upon the Government the necessity of ensuring of at least the 33 p. c. grant-in-aid allowed in the 'Code. [...] In view the importance of basing the technique of clasteaching and school organisation on the results of indegenous research this Conference requests the University of Bombay to expedite the starting of the Department of Psychology and Education a scheme for which has already been approved of by the Aeademie Council. [...] This Conference invites the attention of school authorities to the desirability of having in their schools under the control advisory committees with members from among the assistant masters to help the head master in the organisation of studies and general management of the school. [...] This Conference requests the Government of India to extend the benefits of the system of Postal Life Insurance to the members of the teaching profession working in non-Government institutions also 30 This Conference regrets to note the low rates of salaries now being adopted in secondary schools as measures of retrenchment and feels that the effect of this will invitably bo a lowering of the sta
