Report on the Operation of the Department of Agriculture for the Year Ending 30th June 1937

The number of students which can be admitted depends of course entirely on the numbers admitted in the previous years the buildings available and the strength of the teacing staff. [...] yards included in them are the basis of most of the recommendations which the department is in a position to make for the improvement of agriculture in the prvince. [...] Mention has already been made of the propaganda carried out in the north of the province for the cleaning of threshing floors and the destruction of debris from the gram crobut the efforts were nullified by a wave of fresh infetion which spread over the countryside from areas especially outside the province where cleaning up canpaigns had not been carried out. [...] The area under the crop was large and the outturn is believed to have been above normal but the oustanding feature of the year was the material rise in the price of wheat. [...] Since the close of the last financial year however export has accelerated considerably and at the end of the first four months of this financial year the export had already passed the figure for the whole of the previous year.
