(2) If the conviction and sentence are set aside and a retrial of the accused or his committal to the Court of Session is ordered by Appellate Court that Court shall return the original warrant together with its order on the appeal either to the District Magistrate or to the Court which tried the case with directions to re-try the prisoner for the offence charged or commit him to the Court of [...] In references under sections 307 and 374 of the Code of Criminal Procedure the records of the case together with the letter of reference and the documents and articles prescribed in the above rule shall be depatched from the station at which the trial was held within a week of the time of the order sentencing the accused to death or referring the case under section 307 Criminal Procedure Cod [...] When the High Court pending the hearing of an appeal or an application for revision directs the release of a prisoner on bail to the satisfaction of the District Magistrate the District Magistrate shall fortwith fix the amount of the bail and communicate the order to the Court which passed the order under appeal or revision. [...] The attention of all Criminal Courts is invited to the following instructions issued by the Director-General of Post Offices with the approval of the Government of India on the subject of the production of Post Office records before Courts:— A summons from a Court of civil or criminal jurisdiction to produce any of the records of a Post Office or a certified extract from or copy of any such record [...] The Magistrate and the local police shall be responsible for the necessary arrangements to secure the attendance of the witnesses and the accused and the Court Inspector for the produCtion of the material exhibits at the trial.
