Tirupati in March 1922 and commenced copying the inscriptions from the walls of the Temple: in Tirupati and Tiruchänia and on securing about 60 I compiled the first part of the Report relating to the religious routine in the temples. [...] For the first time the hill is associated with Vishnu in the phrase Nediyon-kunram of the gilappaclikaram and in the beautiful lines in the Kficitilikiinkadai which portray the standing figure of Vishnu on the top of the high hill called Vengadam. [...] The relative lateness of the bulk of the inscriptions treated of here doesn'ot in any way detract from the value of the undertaking. [...] (iv) The queen of Vira-Niirasimha Yidavaraya a Chbla subordinate of the 13th century instituted a fresh BrahmiPsavam in the Tamil Month of.\.ni for Sri Govindarja in addition to the primary one held in Vaika :i constructed a four.-faed car and made a gift of half the village of Paililappalli for meeting the expenses of the newly started festival and -for effecting repairs to the temple fro [...] The Adhikari enquired into the matter became convinced of the neglect on the part of the assembly and ordered the continuance of the entire service through the managers of the temple.
