(I) In the case of an officer permitted to appear at an optional examination prescribed by Government in any of the oriental languages the reasonable period occupied in the journey to and from the place of examination and the day or days of the examination in addition to the time allowed for preparation. [...] (33) Special pay means an additiop of the nature of pay to the emoluments of a post or of a Government servant granted in consderation of— (a) the specially arduous nature of the duties; or (b) a specific addition to the work or responsibility; or (c) the unhealthiness of the locality in which the work is peformed. [...] When a Government servant is ordered to be reduced to „ lower stage in a time-scale the authority passing the order shall include in the orde(i) a statement of the period for which the reduction is to remain in force; and (ii) a statementwhether'on the expiry of the period the Goverment servant's previous service in the stage of the timscale from which he was reduced and the period dur [...] If the former statement be not made or be not clear the period of redution shall expire on the termination of the period at the close of which the officer would have drawn his next incrment had the order of reduction not been pgssed; and if the latter statement be not made or be not clear the Goverment servant shall be entitled on the expiry of the peribd of reduction to count towar [...] Subject to the provisions of clause (c) of rule 48 and of rules 54 and 58 a Government servant officiating in a post will draw the presumptive pay of that post provided that except in the case of a Government servant whose appointment to the post in which he is officiating was made on his own request under sub-rule (1) of rule 24 if the presumptive pay of the permanent post on which he holds a l
