1929
The watershed of the ghats divides the rainfall the smaller portion falling westward into the Indian Ocean and the rmainder flowing through the long lengths of tortuous rivers to the east eventually finding egress to the sea on the south-eastern coast of the peninsula. [...] During the last week of June and the first week of July the river jods low but it maintained a level during the remainder of the season which adequately met the general requirements of irrigation and the late rise in September resulted in the kharif crops being adequately maturedyr and giving exceptionally good out-turn. [...] There was erosion along the right bankand the main current shifted towards the centre of the river at the head of the Arab Dhoro causing the formation of Kacha in (rout of it. [...] These improvements resulted in the entire Sukkur canal system with the exception of the upper portion above Allandadani working well in spite of the unfavourable set of the river at the head of Dhoro A." The Dhoro " A " was opened on the 30th of May and the Rabi Head on the 30th of September. [...] The length of the Nara from the outfall of the Nara Supply Channel to the Jamrao head works is about 96 miles and from the Jamrao head to the Thar weir 107 miles.
