The more important additions to the open mileage have been 50 miles of the Rewari-Ferozepore 49 miles of the Tirhoot Extension 93 miles of the Bengal Central 93 miles of the Range and Sittang Valley 51 miles of the Amritsar-Pathankote. [...] The connection in British territory hetween the extension of the Nizam's Railway via Warangal and the Singareni coal-fields and the Pellary-Kistna Railway to bring that coal.supply within easy reach of the Madras market has been surveyed and reported on by the Engineer-in-Chief of the Nizam's Railway and the district has since been visited by the Consulting Engineer to the Government of India for [...] In December 1884 the Government sanctioned preparations being made for the construction of the Jhelum Bridge at Chak Nizam and for the work on the portion of the line (3} miles) between Malikwal and the bank of the Jhelum. [...] The State has now determined on entrusting the revision of the project and the construction of this line to the Manager of the Bhävnagar-Gondal Railway. [...] The heavy jungle and the broken nature of the ground in parts prevented the entire completion of the survey between the Lamding River and Golagluit during the working season.
