The attention of district officers is particularly invited to the rules tearing on the principal changes made in the administration of the Act as a result of the recommendations of the Indian Arms Committee. [...] In the majority of cases however concerning non-exempte& persons the arms are not covered by a possession licence and in cases of this kind nhere a person's final destination in India is not the port eel; arrival a licence covering temporary possession during the period of the journey from the port of disembarkatiGn to the place of destination can be obtained on payment of a fee of Re. [...] Arms comprising the equipment of as officer of the Army or Royal Air Force for the purposes of section 1 (h) of the Indian Arms Act 1878. [...] Arms comprising the equipment of an officer of the loyal Navy and of the Royal Indian Marine for the purposes of section 1 (b) of the Indian Arms Act 1878.
