[...] In 1918-19 the lowest acreage and production were recorded due to unfavouable weather and to the influenza epidemic during the sowing season.8 In 1920-2i both acreage and production dropped heavily owing to the early cessation of the rains as a result of which moisture in the soil was insufficient for sowing.
