Proceedings of the Second Meeting of the Locust Committee Appointed by the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research held at Simla on 15th 16th and 17th May 1930

On the quee tier) of finance the opinion of the Committee was that whatever the agency ho Province would be able to put up any part of the expenditure involved: and that the finance of the scheme would have to be wholly borne by the Council. [...] The former was provided for in the proposals for locust research work in India recommended by the Comittee '; the latter was for the Imperial Bureau of Entomology to arrange for and it would be for the consideration of the Committee when discussing item 4 of the agenda what financial help India shculd give the Bureau for this purpose. [...] of item 4 of the agenda : action necessary on the recommendations of the Locust Sub-Committee of the Committee of Civil Research appointed by the Privy Council. [...] In the event of the above being acceptable to the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research the Committee desired that the following resolution be communicated to the Committee of Civil Research :- " While areeing that India and Kenya are the most suitable terrtories in which to start research this Committee desires to invite the attention of the Committee of Civil Research to the extreme impor [...] Entomology to be furnished with " reports received from time to time from officers in the field dealing with the history and development of the latest invasion in each territory of the desert locust ". The Committee agreed that Provincial reports received by the Locust Bureau of the Council should after being edited in the Bureau be transmitted to the Imperial Bureau.
