Before pumping commences it is proposed to appoint a Committee of medical and sanitary experts to watch the conditions and to advise as to the measures to be adopted to prevent any possibility of danger to the health of the community resulting from [...] On the subsequent decision of the Corporation to lay additional mains from Tansa the Development Department to which the question of the water supply of Salsette had in the meantime been transferred reopened the matter with the Corporation with a view to obtaining a supply from the mains of the latter generally rather than an independent supply limited to one source only the reasons being :— [...] The scheme contains some of the best land in the suburban area in the neigbourhood of Vadavli village and when the completion of the Salsette Trombay Railway enables the southern sector to be developed is epected to become one of the most popular suburbs. [...] The Assistant Superintendent besides supervising the work of the levellers in the field and the plotting of the level lines in office has personally carried out the Bench Mark levelling and fixed the heights of 12 Bench Marks in Trombay.
