The figure for the Union Provinces has been arrived at by deducting from the British India figure the estimated value of hand-drawn milk in the seceding areas. [...] The total number of poultry has been estimated at 155 millions in British India and 109 millions in the Union Provinces the values of which on the basis of the pre-war average price work out at Rs. [...] The following figures show the production and value of hides and skins in British India and the Union Provinces. [...] The share of the Union Provinces has been assumed to be 80 per cent of this quantity on the basis of the total number of cattle and buffaloes. [...] Adjusting for the share of the seceding areas which has been estimated at one-ninth in the case of Raiways one-sixth in the case of Posts and Telegraphs and one-fourth in the case of 'Currency and Mint and interest receipts the share of the Union Provinces comes to Rs.
