In the majority of cases no indication is given in the original whether the native name is applied to the plant to any of its parts or to the product except in cases in which the indication is embodied in the name itself. But the most important use of the List will be to serve as an instrment in the hands of the Central and District Committees to be organized in India for the carrying out of the Industrial Survey. [...] But little of the sublimate will dissolve in the spirit ; but if before mixing the sublimate be powdeoed as finely as possible and the solution be well shaken before using the suspended atoms of corrosive sublimate will coat the specimen in the washing process and prevent the attacks of insects. [...] This it will be at once seen shows the vertical outline of the whole Fungus the internal nature of its stipes whether hollow or spongy or solid the thickness of the pileus and the peculiarities of the gills whether equal or unequal in length decurrent upon the stipes or otherwise &c. [...] When this is the case the central' portion or slice and the two halves of the stipes are to be fastened upon white paper tiRgether with the respective halves of the pileus upon the top of the latter in their original position.
