(12) The leases of the abkari administration of the States and Talukas in the Mahi Kantha Agency were terminated except in the case of the Talukas of Ghodasar Khadal and Mahisa the abkari administration of which continued to be managed by the Government of Bombay (G. [...] The increase was partly due to the recovery of the arrears of vend fees for the previous year and partly to the increased fees especially in the Town and Island of Bombay realized from the auctions for 1932-33. [...] The increase in the Thana District is due to the relaxation of the political agitation and to the tapping of a larger number of trees for the supply of toddy to Bombay. [...] The remarkable decrease in the consumption of toddy in the Ratnagiri District is due to the fact that all the toddy shops in the Ratnagiri District remained closed for about a month in the beginning of the year as the old licensees went on strike in a body. [...] The increase in the consumption of ganja in the Belgaum District is reported to be due to the better quality of the ganja sold by licensees during the year.
