Administration Report on the Jails of Orissa for the Year 1941

The strength of the literacy class at the beginning of the year was 22 194 were admitted during the year 189 out of the total prisoners receiving education were discharged leaving 27 on the roll of the class at the close of the year. [...] The number of juveniles of this Province remaining in the Monghyr Juvenile Jail at the beginning of the year under report was 26 thus bringing the total number of such prisoners in that jail to 45.28 were discharged during the year leaving 17 prisoners at the end of the year.
