To the south east of the Girnar hillies the extensive forest of Gir which supplies timber and other forest products to the residents of the State and neighbouring districts and is unique as being the only santuary of the Indian lion. [...] The principal peaks in The Junagadh portion of the Gir are:—(1) Karakia (2) Dundi2 (3) Lapla and (4) Ratio in the vicinity of Visavadar (5) Roemal in the vicinity of Malia (6) Hadalidhar in the vicinity of Una and (7) Saylo in the vicinity of Patan. [...] Junagadh town itself is hotter than other parts of the State owing to the proximity of the Girnar hills but the climate of the town is not unhealthy. [...] ADMLNISTRATION:— The administration of the State is carried on by His Highness the Nawab Saheb Bahadur with the assistance of the Dewan and the Council. [...] The policy of His Highness is the increasing asociati( n of the people cf the State with the directic n of its affairs and gradual development of self governinv institutions.
